The clouds of dreams, gather.
and, words start to pour.
A thousand words, worth a single image.
An image, that speaks of a thousand dreams.
The dreams, which are born, When the night is cold, And the fog is thick.
A moment when it is,
Monsoon over the Pacific.
The desire to understand life (personal or in general) is strong in us. We all go through waves of emotions and feelings, often traveling between subjective and objective definitions of dreams, hopes, ambitions, love, disgust, disappointment, sorrow, pain and so much more.
The combination of poetry and photography in this project is an attempt to connect this inner world (personal) and outer world (general), where private feelings and socio-cultural imprints of those, interact in the visual language of photography. The project started as an autobiographical photo diary, which soon became an investigation of several existential questions regarding life in a universal manner.
This investigation moves forward with images of landscapes, self-portraits, abstract images, and poetry. The title Monsoon over the Pacific symbolizes water (monsoon), as emotions and feelings, because water is considered a strong symbol of that in several cultures, and water (Pacific) as a metaphor for human character, which is as deep and mysterious as the depth of an ocean.
